Rally of New Zealand hits the Waikato

The Propecia Rally of New Zealand hits the Waikato during this week, and several members are involved in a variety of roles. With the rally needing approximately 2500 volunteers to run it, it was inevitable that local car clubs would get involved. A number of members are taking exactly that type of role, - volunteering to marshal at various points. Several have managed to get jobs at Mystery Creek for the Super Special Stage.

Similarly, a number are involved in getting tourists to the best spots, with Greg Paul running Rally Tours NZ and having local people as drivers and couriers.

Working more closely with the organisation of the event are Maurice Thomson as a Technical Officer, and Campbell Robertson as Chief Safety Officer. Maurice has Club Members as part of his team, and Campbell will have Chris Teesdale with him during reconnaissance, and Joss Robertson, Robyn Fergusson and Jocelyn McLachlan during the rally when they will cover every stage in front of the field as the first Safety Car on the road.

On Thursday night November 16th the Club will have several cars on display as part of the ceremonial start hoopla.
